The artwork that I made is a self portrait of myself that I made out of cardboard. I bent the cardboard every which way so that I could make it look like a head. I used a lot of different techniques to make the cardboard look specifically like me, especially my hair by bending the cardboard and making it go to the left, painting the eyes blue, and making myself have a smile.
Some inspiration that I used when making this portrait was looking at a photo of myself, also taking pictures from different angles so I made the size of my facial features correct. An element of design that was used is shape, I used this element to make my face look as realistic as possible and to make it have a geometric type of look as well. Another element that I used was size, I used this element to make the the portrait look as realistic as possible also I used size to make the portrait stand out more.
When I was making this portrait I was thinking about how could I make this portrait look as realistic as possible. The purpose behind this portrait is to make something out of material and make it look as close as possible to me. This portrait has no function, it does have two removable parts that're the irises that are painted blue.
Yes, I do like my portrait because I believe that it is one of my best and most creative pieces of work yet. One thing that was difficult when making this portrait was making the cardboard bend the ways I wanted it to in order to make the right shapes. I thought that the making of my hair went especially well because I was able to make it without any issues and it ended up looking really good in my opinion.
